Indiana State Police

Another night of drinking sends things from bad to worse...

This time, our hero hails from Terre Haute, Indiana. Apparently, some time around 5am, an excellent time for things like this to happen, it would seem, our hero overturns his vehicle. For reasons unknown to this commentator and blogger, our hero thought to rectify the situation himself. Perhaps if you're drunk, you crash your car, and somehow find a way to get your vehicle home safely without police involvement, anything will seem like a good idea.

Unfortunately, this car was upside down, but don't let that stop him from towing it anyway, because our hero has access to farm equipment. He doesn't own it, but he has access to it. Apparently, he worked for a farm that just happened to be a couple miles away. He got a tractor, hooked it up, and began to tow it. Upside down. On its roof. Wheels in the air. You get the picture. I wish I had a picture of this. We do have a pic, courtesy of the Indiana State Police, of the end reslut at least.

So, apparently not catching the message that his driving ability was impaired, our hero figured that even though his previous attempt at driving ended very badly, he was still ready to try again, and with a much more expensive vehicle, one which he was not the owner of.

Of course, that ended badly as well. While crossing a bridge over Otter Creek, he lost control of the tractor.

Total estimates of damages to property not belonging to our hero: $170,000. $150,000 to the tractor, $20,000 to the bridge.

That is one expensive night of drinking.

Our hero was found by police hiding in the farmhouse.

While he's now charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a crash, my guess is he's lucky that the police found him before the owner of the $150,000 damaged tractor did.
